The traditional techniques for drilling vertical wells and subsequent fracturing do not always ensure a high recovery rate and allowable profitable exploitation of oil wells. The main reason is that the developers of the hydraulic fracturing design do not have all the necessary data, including the height of the interlayers and the optimal fracture length for the field.
GEOSPLIT technology makes it possible to solve the problem of developing an effective fracturing model for the whole field or cluster, based on the projection of data obtained from one vertical well with fracturing.
In the polymer coating of proppant, a neutron-absorbing material is introduced, which allows determining accurately the fracture height by means of a pulsed neutron logging which is held before and after fracturing. Moreover, the quantum markers-reporters are introduced into the polymeric shell of the proppant injected during the fracturing in various combinations corresponding to the stages of hydraulic fracturing. Subsequently, in the study of fluid, the customer receives the data on efficiently working sections along the entire length of hydraulic fracturing and is able to correct the model of fracturing in adjacent sections of the field.
